Shaping Tomorrow’s Pediatric Landscape: Notable KidsX Alumni & Accomplishments in 2024

Through innovative programs designed to facilitate collaboration among a diverse group of stakeholders in pediatric healthcare, combined with a comprehensive consortium of hospitals, KidsX remains at the forefront of advancing digital health solutions in pediatrics. Since its inception, KidsX has introduced an annual cohort of companies that join the ranks of KidsX alumni after successfully completing the accelerator program. These alumni companies have continued to achieve new milestones and deliver meaningful impacts on pediatric care, advancing critical innovations in the field. Here are some key highlights from 2024:

Funding and Expansion:
Nen has received investment from Plug and Play, a leading innovation platform connecting startups, corporations, venture capital firms, universities, and government agencies. This signifies a recognition of Nen’s potential to revolutionize pediatric oncology care.

Maro is one of three Catalyst 2024 winners. Catalyst is a competitive grants program for ambitious social entrepreneurs who have developed mobile-first solutions that enhance our lives and address pressing challenges in American communities.

Technological Advancements:
Pieces Technologies unveils Pieces in your Pocket (PYP), a new AI solution designed to enhance patient progress note generalization with a voice-enabled assistant that understands and contextualizes the patient history.

Artera announced three new products available to use with the Artera Harmony platform; Artera Pulse Outreach (enables dynamic, recurring patient outreach from any data source to bridge care gaps and enhance patient outcomes), Artera Branded Messaging (first patient communications solution to bring rich messaging to healthcare with Artera Branded Messaging), Artera Connection Hub (A suite of interoperability and reporting tools designed to streamline patient engagement across both Artera and third-party systems).

Hospital Implementations:
Curbside Health and OSF HealthCare are excited to announce the implementation of Curbside’s clinical effectiveness content management platform. The partnership will support patient care, increase appropriate clinical standardization, and promote clinical excellence across the continuum of care.

Diligent Robotics first implemented their product, Moxi, in CHLA. In less than two years, the robot has completed more than 13,000 tasks, supported 37 different areas of the hospital, traveled more than 700 miles, and saved team members more than 2 million steps and 9,000 hours of work time.

Gamers Outreach has successfully placed 245 GO Kart 3.0 units in hospitals. These GO Karts are poised to be profound, supporting up to an estimated 710,500 gaming experiences annually.

Partnerships:
Augment Therapy announced a pilot program in partnership with CareSource at Cincinnati Children’s. The pilot will focus on approximately 30 patients in the inpatient cardiac rehab unit at Cincinnati Children’s where physical therapists will utilize Augment Therapy’s ARWell PRO gamified software during therapy sessions.

Wavely has joined the PedMrkt community. PedsMrkt unites pediatric innovators, raising awareness for new solutions through their e-commerce platform and marketplace. With this partnership, these companies will advance the adoption and scaling of WavelyDx and connect with other like-minded organizations.

Mergers and Acquisitions:
Vincere Health was acquired by RVO Health, the largest health information platform in the U.S. Through this integration, RVO Health and Vincere Health will continue to forge a path to engage consumers with their health, develop effective smoking and vaping cessation products and improve health outcomes.

Fabric acquired another fellow KidsX alum GYANT, a conversational AI care assistant and patient engagement suite that enables health organizations to automate patient navigation and scheduling, and MeMD, a company focused on offering benefits for more than 30,000 employers and five million members with virtual behavioral, urgent, and primary care services.
